T II problem???

I am currently looking at a 88 Turbo 2 but it has low compression and probably needs a new engine is what the guy said. My Question is is replacing the engine the only solution or can i overhaul it ?? Also if I need to repalce the engine is there a good cheap place out there that i can buy a New Rebuilt engine?

You have several options... First you can buy a WHOLE new engine... EXPENSIVE...
Second you can overhaul it... Take it apart.. Check ALL parts precisely and make sure they are up to specs... Buy NEW apex seals.. and I would probably replace all seals if you plan on using this car for a long time.... Very simple..
third: it's spelled Rotary.. not Rotory I would probably change my name or you will spend a lifetime of "hey you spelled it wrong" on the forum hehehe

as for the websites with engines.. mazdatrix sells rebuilt engines I think... Atkins..
www.mazdatrix.com
www.atkinsrotary.com
www.mazdamotorsports.com (not sure if they sell complete engines, but they do sell parts... check em out)
many others I can't think of now... DO A SEARCH ON THE FORUM

Atkins Rotary sells one I am sure and usually every other large company out there. Just look around on the links section. The Rotary isn't that hard to dissasemble and reasemble cause it lacks a lot of parts so it isn't that much trouble. Low Compression usually means something is warped so you might look out to buy a new housing or two...good luck man and gives us the heads up when you get it done.

Reduced compression can be caused by tired apex seals and springs. A word of caution for you...If you're looking for a rebuilt engine and you're considering Atkins, search this section to see what kind of experiences members have had with them....If I say anything more it'll be considered slander.
