BAd gas mileage, thats about all I really noticed but it was bad since before I bought it. Decided to change it and when I did took it off and all this brown **** came out of it. It was pretty clogged up! It also responded a little better after the new fuel filter for some reason. But I also changed the spark plugs put in a moble 1 oil filter( that cost $11) in at the same time.

yeah, i just replaced mine, what a PAIN IN THE ***. i KNOW i did something wrong, cuz fuel kept coming out of the line (steel one under the car). im so dirty right now, and im all woozy and feel like **** (gasoline smelling for 2 hrs). the filter was all old and the hoses were completely worn on so i had to go to track auto, buy a 2ft hose of hte same diameter (cut part off to get inside diameter), bought end secure clamps, and put that SOB back on. damn what a pain. i DID notice some brown comin out of the filter though. (only when i got the hose off

It shouldn't be that big of a deal really. Just take the old one off and put the new one on. I am going to cut the fuel and let the car die though so hopefully no fuel will come out. That is whenever I get around to changing mine.

Fuel still comes out. It is a big deal, have you changed yours yet? When I did one of the bolts broke and the hoses were a bitch to get off. Had to remove the filter with the hoses and sit there with every tool I could think of and about 20 min's to get them off.

i tried unplugging the fuel pump and letting the car die also when i attempted changine the fuel filter. a whole lotta fuel came out of the filter still...enough to make me think, ok, time to put the hose back and let someone else do it. a lot more fuel came out than i expected and i wasn't prepared for it.

when you change your fuel lines, make sure you get the ones that are pressure rated for our cars (i think 44psi)...i didn't know there were different types and was given lines that weren't strong enough and eventually busted open. luckily i was able to pull over and turn off the car as soon as i smelled the gas. a $5 mistake cost about $200 to fix :-(

When I changed the one on my old NA, not very much fuel came out at all and all it involved was putting the car on ramps and unscrewing 2 hose clamps and replacing it. Then screwing the hose clamps back on.
