Switching Motor Oil
I have been running 5w30 in my car. I recently read somewhere that i should be running 10w30. Is this true? Is there anything special that needs to be done to switch?

i would never put in 5w30 on a rotary due to its heat. It all depends where you live at. Over here in Fresno, CA the lowest I have seen is around 35 deg F. So I throw in 20w50 all year long.

This is my first rotary vehicle, and i havent had it for very long. That is what was in it when i bought it. According to temp ratings 5w30 is for colder temps than we get here. 10w30 was for my temp range. I plan on changing it tonight. Just wanted to make sure there wasn't anything special to switch oils. Is there?
