Switching away from switches :)

As anyone else knows that has an old 7, swells of electrical gremlins love to kick back and set up camp all over these cars. I think they prefer the smell of the transmission. Whatever...

Anyway, I've replaced many wires from the stock harness, cleaned many grounds, and even replaced many parts that probably didn't need replacing. Now, I just want to get rid of some electrical items altogether.

I would like to replace my power windows with manual windows.

I've searched and searched, but found no thread about switching TO manual windows. If you've done that, what problems did you run into? Will I just need the inner door panels? Are the windows themselves different in any way?

Please, don't tell me how dumb I am for wanting manual windows; I'm aready well aware.

a better alternative is to wire in relays to control the power to take the load off the switches themselves, there is some writeups around for installing relays to make a near bulletproof power window system. it's cheaper and takes less time than switching to manual window anyways and just as reliable.

Although Aarons car is very awesome, his window switches are not. I did a small wright up using better switches.

But seeing as how you want manuel, I would think that fastest and easiest way would be to swap doors with someone that wants power windows.
