"Switched" power source?
I have a S5 N/A ... I am looking for the best "switched" power source (perf under hood) for my e-fan. I currently have it set up to come on via temp sensor switch, but, because it's wired to direct power, it continues to run after car has been shut down, causing battery drain. I think I can tie into the leading coil wiring, but not sure how this will effect spark, when fan comes on ...

not positive on the s5 cars, but there should be plugs for auto adjust suspension near the strut towers that you can tap into with a spade terminal. just use a voltmeter to check them out. obviously you could go to the coils but that seems unnecessary. I had an rpm switch running off a green diagnostic connector (driver's side fenderwall) on an s4 n/a, but I don't know if that is on the s5 cars.
You should always use a relay and fuse when wiring in a Fan. You do not want to just hook a fan up to a switched 12volt source. If you just hook up to a 12 volt switched source with no protection of isolating the circuit with a relay, you run the opportunity to smoke out the wiring harness and anything attached to your tapped wire.
Fan wiring can be found in the FAQ for FC sticky thread found at the top of this section.

Thx Aaron, I found the 6 pin green diag plug this afternoon ... just wanted to confirm via your write-up that this was a safe location.
