Question swapping over, big question...im stumped

So i looked over the tech article from rotary ressurection, and he left my questions unanswered. I am trying to swap the s5 drivetrain from my 89 in my 88 vert. in his article he says you must keep the
Throttle body with TPS
•• Oil metering pump and front cover
•• Wiring harness with fuel injectors
•• ecu
•• airflow meter
•• water pump housing, water pump, fan
...but why cant just swap over the entire wiring harness and ecu from my 89? why do i have to keep s4 stuff? i have the complete s5 car, so i can pull off anything i want, but if i swap the wiring harness and ecu cant i keep all s5 stuff?
thaks guys!

because the front, body, and battery/starter harnesses are all different. unless you want to swap out all of the wiring in the car, do as the rotary resurrection article describes.
