Swapped hoods n/a to T2 now latching problems.....

i swapped my convertible aluminum hood for a t2 aluminum hood and now it is more difficult to close it. I used to be able to just drop the hood from 6 or so inches and it would latch down. now i have to push it down until it clicks in. i am worried I will dent the hood if i have to keep doing this.
i have read about the differences in latches and spring sensitivities but it was an alum. for alum swap so there is really no weight issue/difference here. could my latch need lube? or may it be misaligned?

help

probably just a little misaligned. Look at the catch on the hoods and maybe one is more worn or slightly bent you may need to just realign the latch.

yeah the bolt holes aren't perfectly aligned, so it takes two people to install a hood properly 99% of the time.

sure you had a convertible hood before? It should have been lighter than the Turbo hood.

positive I had a convertible hood

this vert has been unmolested, undamaged and in the family since new so I know the history very well.....................remember going with my dad to pick it up when i was 8!
so if the turbo hood is a bit heavier than the aluminium vert hood then it must be an alignment thing i guess. ill see if i can adjust the latch.
