Suspension set up......
Okay, I'm looking into buying my suspension for my 87 TII, I already have my mind on tokico shocks, but i'm trying to figure out what springs I should get. I'm just wondering what type of springs you guys have with your tokico's, for those of you that have tokico's, my brother said tien springs, but I just want to see what others have in mind or have on their rides.
Or what type of coil overs are good for this car?
What are the benefits between coil overs and shocks?
Any suggestions would be helpful

unless your doing some hardcore racing, then don't worry about coilovers. They will be a waste of money and far to harsh for street driving.
I went with the RB springs, lots of people like them, but tanabe is also a good name for springs. lots of spring makers, its all about opinion if you ask the people on here.
I would go with what you can afford and what your application is. If you want a lower ride with a bit stiffer or if you want same ride height and maintain quality of ride for street use.

I went with Tokico Blues and Tein S-Tech Dress Up Master springs. Much better ride than stock, lowered about 1.5 in the front, and about 1 in the rear. The 7 feels much more sure of itself in corners and is perfect for my style of aggressive/spirited street driving.

Ya, search. There are tons. Your choices range from soft & good handling to harsh/bumpy & great handling. Coilovers are super harsh and expensive; they're mainly for the race track. With Tokicos it sounds like you want something "soft" (but stiffer than stock), like Racing Beat. You could also get adjustable shocks which let you change the stiffness of the shocks with a little dial. You'll want new suspension bushings as well, since your old ones are probably worn out.
Don't get harsh springs with soft shocks, or your suspension will bounce around multiple times after every bump. Don't get harsh shocks with soft springs, or you'll blow the shocks pretty quick (and the improvement in handling won't be as great as the decrease in ride quality).

i say, if ur a poor college student like me, go wid what u want but if u got extra ends to spend, go for ZEAL FUNCTION V6, or did they change it to function x?

suspension depends on what you plan on doing with car. a bit of racing and mostly daily driving id agree with tokicos with tien or Tanabe springs. drifting go for stiff coilovers, and road racing i dont know anything about sorry haha. probably close to the same as drifting i assume. depends on how you drive. good luck
