Suspension Opinions Please
My rear struts are starting to leak so I am going to replace my shocks and springs front and rear. First, I drive my car mostly to and from work so ride quality is important. However I do like taking corners fast and the occasional spirited driving. I was looking at either getting Racing Beat Springs or Eibach Springs, opinions please? Side question: (Does anyone know when my car is lowered from different springs if I will get interference problems with my tires because I run 225/45/17 tires?) For shocks I was really considering getting adjustable shocks possible KYB AGX, but I am not quite sure if I had adjustable shocks if it would really be worth the extra money, opinions please? Now if I get the Racing Beat springs I think I will just buy the suspension package and get the sway bars too. Another thing I have thought about doing is I have noticed some of the suspensions bushings on my car look pretty old and brittle so I thought about buying energy suspension bushing kit and replacing the bushings while I am redoing my suspension, is it worth it or would this make my suspension pretty stiff?

Replace it ALL. I cant vouch for any particular company though. I tried to half-*** my suspension change by only switching shocks but regreted it. I've replaced all my other suspension parts since and the ride couldn't be smoother

mix and match to get what you want, new springs will make the ride worse but its not going to be bad. if you get struts too it will probly be a smoother ride then you have with the old stuff. I have heard that the bushing kits make more of a difference on handling then the springs and struts do so i would deffinately do those

I had the Eibach pro kit springs with Tokico HP and they were awesome to autocross. Considering that it was a daily driver, It was the best compromise between perforrmance, ride quaility, parts quality, and price. I also did the ocasionaly drag race, and managed to cut 2.0 60' with street Yoko's and 1.96 60's with drag radials. No suspension hop. I've ridden in an FC with RB springs and they're better ride quality, and not as good performance. Still great but just a little softer than the Eibachs. In Abilene TX the roads are sorta rough...so to me the RB seemed like a better choice. But if the Roads in your area aren't too bad go with the Eibach's. As for struts i now have the AGX (different springs) and they're doing fine so far.

If you want to keep you ride quality, get the adjutable shocks, new stock springs and upgrade the sway bars for cornering.
I did the KYB AGX's and Eibach Pros. I almost wish I had done stock springs, AGX's and either TII or vert sway bars.
I have a friend that has an 87 TII with 167k, still stock suspension, and his car rides better and corners better than mine with shocks, struts and 103k. The biggest difference is in the sway bars.

i'm disrespectful to dirt
i've had eibach pro kit with tokicos and i loved them. great ride quality for the street and corners nice. energy suspension kit made it stiffer but it was still comfortable and worth it in my opinion. my problem with the eibachs was the ride hight... they actually raised my car. unless you have a way to adjust the hight they'd look funny with 17s.

I have the Racing Beat springs and Tokico Illuminas. On the street I have the struts set thier softest setting, and I like the ride. The car doesn't have that much harsher of a response than when it had the stock suspension (it had 150k+ miles on it). Maybe I'm too much of a purest, but I like linear rate springs. I just try not to drive over rough holes in the road.
From all I've heard though, the Eibach progressive springs are a good choice for a more daily driven street car.

I've got some Mazdaspeed Coilovers that I may be looking to sell. Camber plates in front, 4 way dampening all around. 7kg front, 6kg rear. PM me for pics if you're interested.

Either way, The guy is living in Phoenix, where the roads are nice. I'd say go with the Racing Beat linear springs, as they are a bit stiffer than the Eibachs, but not uncomfortably so. I live in central PA, where there's less road than potholes, and I can tolorate the RB springs, but the 7 is definatly a softer ride

I got KYB AGX's, the Racing Beat swaybars/springs kit, and the DTSS eliminators.
The car feels much more solid and grippy, not to mention way more predictable.
I considered coilovers, but they were too much money and I really don't need all that adjustibility.

Does anyone know if you can have 225/45/R17 tires with the 1" or .8" drop from the racing beat or eibach springs and have no interference problems? (no rubbing)

I am still running the stock wheels & tires, so I don't know.
The latest FC wheel fitment thread may be a good place to look.

I R SAD PANDA W/O BAW
I've had 2 cars with the eibach pro kit and I'd definately go with a linear set of springs if I were ever to go back to a shock and spring combo. I'd tried both KYB AGX and illuminas. I like the AGX's better.
