Exactly where is the bolt? I had a tie rod end that was spinning on a r/h lateral link in the rear and used a Dremel Motor to cut the nut off the tie rod end. So I'm saying in some cases you can just cut the head or nut off. Depends what you working on. Theres also nut crackers out there, but I never used one.

Is it the bolt that is threaded into the control arm? remove the brake rotor to get a better angle on this bolt and if the head is rounded or stipped use a slightly smaller twelve point socket and hammer it onto the bolt then use an impact wrench to remove(tool shop may have a tool that can be used instead of the socket but works the same). may also use some WD40 to break loose the rust( threads should be visible once rotor is removed. if bolt turns and wont come out then the control arm will most likely need to be replace as this bolt threads into the casting on the end of the control arm. A heli coil or thread repair could work but it would probably be easier to replace the whole control arm. if it is one of the bolts that is through bolted(nut on other end) you can cut off the nut or bolt head with a hack saw or sawzall.

I'm looking at page 9-11 of the 88fsm that is on line free at http://www.iluvmyrx7.com and I see three bolts with nuts and washers that hold the toe control hub on. If its one of those three, then you just either drill the head off the bolt or cut into the side of the nut with a dremel motor and pop it with a chisel until it breaks off. Is the bolt you refer to one of those with maybe a rounded off head or is it another? Maybe what Tims refered to? I think your talking about the ones I refered to and the one you have trouble with is the most forward one that angles downward.I don't think the nail splitter is the way to go.

the bolt that houses the toe bushing does not have a nut . it is threaded directly into the casting of the control arm. this is the 22mm socket bolt that comes from the bottom at an angle towards the center of the car. the other two 17mm socket bolts have nuts and can be cut easily. I just had to replace this bolt this weekend from a crash I had at the last race that ended up totallying my race car. that bolt was severely bent too. only reason I am so familiar with all these parts right this moment. also exploded the wheel bearing and both CV joints on that side.

TIMS....I just pulled my r/h rear wheel off and I now am on the same page as you. Sad thing. Maybe a heicoil, but might save time and effort if maybe 50-75 bucks was spent at the wreck yard. I'd say less than 50 at the yard I go to. Striped out? So you turn it and it does not move? How about turning the head while having someone with a screwdriver push at the same time on the other end? I'd give that a try before destroying the head.
