Suspension ailment

well since i'm new at this, i went to a place to get my shocks installed (tokico/racingbeat) i know how to do the rears easy now. The point is, when we were gonna do my front two, he said that there is a small rubber pad thats cracked or torn up or something so it would be best to replace that before putting in brand new shocks and i was wondering, if you take a look at this picture, what is it that needs replacing is it the upper shock mount or is it the strut boot/bump stop because i'm not entirely sure but i'm going to take a guess and say its the strut boot.

and about the rear shocks, They run great guys, perfect springs were kinda small tho, but its worked out hopefully next update will be tomorrow.

well yea i know that the picture is of the actual mount, but i'm wondering, would it be ok just to replace the mount, because i'm not sure if the boot/bushing is cracked underneath, mechanic said "there is a small rubber plate here thats cracked to hell, you should replace it before putting the new shocks in" so i'm wondering if i should just replace the boot and mount on both sides.

IIRC... the only thing on top is the mount. The boot and bumpstop actually slide over the rod before you attach it to the mount. Personally... I replaced all of it when I did mine (boots, bumpstops, mounts, springs, struts, and bushings in the rear). It's a 20 year old car and not worth the hassle to disassemble it again.
