susceptible Wear Question

Hey, I got these irons awhile back and after cleaning up the faces a bit I noticed some susceptible wear in the bottom of the intermediate iron facing the front rotor. The wear is also in the front iron though not nearly as bad. Our belief is that the rotor sat with some water in it while tilting rear and then was rotated a bit. You will see the wear pattern and hopefully make sense of it.

It looks like pitting, crude measurements put it it at approx 5 thousandths. I will be using it in a n/a build.

Pics are doubled with and without flash, one pic of the whole iron to see the overall condition.

Junk or Usable?

The pitting is also exactly where the corner seal will pass and I intend to run Solid seals. Some corner seal will probably also hit it.

looks a little worse than I thought it would. I wish I could see them in person, sometimes pics make it look bad. Have you had Seth look at it yet?

Yeah Seth looked at them, then put on a stupid grin and said 'run em'.

We passed a corner seal over it and its mixed, it seems like it will slide across and be supported by the iron but at the same time will lead to some extra blow by of the exhaust.

The synopsis here seems to be, hell no in a turbo motor but livable in an N/A motor.
