Supercharged R0tary P0wah!

http://media.putfile.com/New-Camden-Supercharger

No music this go, thanks to Dan at Akins and Andy at Camden...both have been more of a help than anyone I've found in the Rotary Community!

Still messing with everything and tweaking bits and peices, my pressure sensor broke so it's unhooked at the moment (waiting on my new one to come in that I bought last night).

Thanks

If anyone wants to know about the boost gauge beind on the window I needed to see it while I drove down the road (15 mph max) and don't have my gauge pod in yet and I'm looking for a hole (vs drilling one) to come into the cabin at...so for now it was just to make sure I was making boost

hahah phewww. 20 psi would be pretty cool though With that setup do you use stock ecu and injectors and all that good stuff? or do they supply bigger injectors and **** with the kit?

In order to make it the most appealing to EVERYONE in the FI area it runs off the stock ECU, Injectors...the only thing that makes a difference in terms of fuel delievery is a fuel pressure regulator, which mine is unhooked at the moment (makes it run real rich if I hook it up - which means it's not adjusted right apparently).

8 Psi Pulley Set, albeit the new charger does have a bigger pulley so there's no telling...as far as the buy it out the box, it's 5 PSI

20psi out of that charger would be pretty much a death sentence, not very cool!

It sounds like that because it's a straight lobed supercharger, they're rather noisy. It took about 26 hours to install (non-stop, mostly due to the fact that the shipper didn't include half of the things we needed, not from atkins, from someone else). To get the thing installed and setup pretty reliably, expect to pay right around $4000+ (unless you find it used)

Well,

The kit's 3500 I believe, so you've got to take that into account it provides almost everything you need.

The only EXTRA things I recommend having around are...

1) Sharp Knife
2) Soldering Iron & Solder (if you don't feel like cutting the harness back).
3) SAFCII (critical to a tune, but in my case, in the first charger, I had to add +50% of gas due to the thing having serious issues)
4) Lots of sockets & wrenchs & extensions, if you don't have a set pick it up from SEARS, 150 peice is on sale for $99 right now!
5) Time to spare, and a back up car, if need-be.
6) RTV, every color you can find.
7) JB-Weld, you never know.

A lot of people disregard this kit due to the fact that it's a older design, albeit some of the things were updated like the seals and what not, but it does the job and thats what matters.

It's a very fun project, the uninstall of the old N/A crap took the longest part, but from the intake manifold up it only took me about 3 hours to do that all, the fuel system probbaly 2, and then tests, etc. It's a lot of little things that add up.

I defintley give this kit a thumbs up after doing all the work and it finally pays off, I would do it all over again if I had to.

mfresh, www.camdensuperchargers.com call and talk to any of the people there they will be more than happy to help you out, you can go FI or if you have a carb sitting around and that fits your style you can go that way.

As for power, second gear pull at a slow 15 mph is like my first gear pull used to be with a perfect launch. First gear it's hard to watch the tach because the RPM's shoot up so fast along with the MPH.

Possibly tonight, I want to run it around a little while with out getting at WOT for too long before I do anything crazy, I'm going to the local hang out to let the locals drool at what they wish they could have when they have to go back to their honduhs.

Keep an eye on that boost gauge, with those stock injectors if you get near the last chargers boost you're gonna be in trouble!

I got a little trigger happy tonight, forgot the camera as I was in a rush to get out to the place after I got out of the shower tonight...

"Mazdaspeed Protege - First race for the night, not used to the car yet launch wise, so we launched and of course I spun the tires all the way through first which immediatly gave him the advtg. so I finally started to catch up and the DREADED BELT STARTED SQUEALING...son of a betch, it's a random thing now, so I get to change belts YET again, anyway, he eneds up putting about half a car on me tops then the explorer tries to race...

Older Explorer - Round Boy but not the newest - Cams, Exhaust, and some other things, it was nice sounding but he kept driving like an ahole so he slams up beside me and starts hot braking it trying to use the TC to his ability so I didn't even launch just to see...he was about a half of car in front of me until about 6k rpm, then I put about two car lengths on him by second.

V8 Camaro - First race with him, I grinded third after being side by side with him so that pissed me off, then we finally got another chance but it was right before traffic ended and he flew in between two cars, I waited, so I played catch up at about 100mph I passed him and walked him.

After that I went home after having a fun time for the night, glad to have heat & powersteering again finally! "
