Sunroof Wind Blocker? Where to get (pics)

Hey, dug this up in my FC Pic collection and thought it looked pretty damn good, and would get rid of that really bassy sound at the right speed.

My sunroof has that little black piece that pops up, but it doesnt do much for that annoying sound.

sometimes i've held that black pop-up piece down. its near silent when its down, but when its up it causes an annoying wind sound. is there a good purpose for it?

Hehe... find a car that has one and take it off. I have one though that came off of my Sport. Seems to be original equipment on some models.

EDIT: Victoria British sells one for $30 that attaches with no drilling that the stock one does. I am sure other places have these as well.

It was a Mazda Finish Line Accessory for a while, but I would think that you would be able to find them at any bigger auto parts stores/companies

There's an FC that's frequently parked at the gym down the road that has one...you could club him and take it from his car.

Just do me a favor and get the drivers side fender too, I need one of those.

My sport has that. I think its more common on Sport's. Gotta love the S4's It allowed you to open the roof when it was raining a bit without getting soaked.

When its held down, it lets the air flow really well into the cabin. When its up, it acts as a sheild, mostly for aerodynamics i determined, blocking the wind.

IIRC these "should" still be available as a dealer item. Is that correct Icemark? Give your local Mazda dealer a call and ask, it never hurts.

It's a wind deflector. Drive on the freeway with it up, and then while you're driving push it down and notice how much more air gets sucked into the cabin of the car.

my car is dead, so could you let me in on the secret? the only time i played with it was on the highway. heh, i don't think it'd
be safe driving around town fooling with my wind deflector. honestly, though, i dont remember any difference
except noise. with it down, does it let in more air? if so, i would love to take it out. actually, its so annoying i would like it
removed anyways, though i rarely have ever opened my sunroof (i wouldnt mind having a non-motorized sunroof that was
attached with zeus pins or something).

being 6' 3" i can't stand the stock air deflector down. the wind hitting just the top of my head drives me crazy. and im not going to recline way back and look like a MaDD ThuG Yo just to get around it to have some extra air come in. if you want air to come in roll down your windows.

you can order a universal Ventshade one from Summit. I have one sitting under my bed that I may end up putting back on my car. They don't look that good on black though IMO.

well that answers my question about bringing in air. i'm not a short guy, so i imagine the air will be floating on my head. that sounds great. air feels good on my scalp. then again, i have about a shaved head.
and as for letting in extra air, my windows are down. but with no a/c in texas, every little bit counts, right? 'just rolling down the windows' isn't enough in ~100 degree weather with that damn humidity.
