Sunroof Track problem

Yes its the classic sticking of the sunroof. I finally got the hole thing disasembled to find that the spiral wire is stuck in the track thing. Does anyone know where I can buy a new one.

probably someone parting out a car could sell you that part. Try the for sale section.

unfortunately most of them are really worn. So an old one will just really be a band aid. They only way is to rebuild the whole thing. I feel for you as i'm on the same boat.

Pull the cable out of the guide, clean it and the tube then lube with White Lithium grease...

When I priced the cable, it was $125 CDN, still available to order too.

Maybe if you have the roof assenbly out, use WD40 or penetrating oil to free up the cable. If this works be real sure to clean it up well, get rid of all traces of WD40 or penetrating fluid and re-lubricate with white lithium grease before reassembly!
