Brake cleaner
paper towels
long length rag
white lithium grease

open sunroof, use long length rag under the frame rail to keep from nasty goop getting on the upholstery. spray the track grooves with the brake cleaner and soak up/ wipe off with the paper towels. repeat repeat repeat til clean. let dry then lube the track grooves with the white lithium grease. repeat with the other side.

you don't have to take it out, but by doing so it makes things a whole lot easier.
