Sunroof assembly removal, USDM S5 with passive seatbelts

I finally decided to restore my jacked up sunroof mechanism on my S5T2. It's a USDM FC, with the motor-mouse seat belts. With 2x complete used sunroof assemblies sitting in my basement, I have all the parts I need to fully restore the mechanism in mine, and I have 2 rust free panels to replace mine, which is starting to rust bubble. Anyway, the FSM procedure for removing the entire sunroof assembly looked simple enough. But I ran into a snag at the last step, where you're supposed to support the assembly from below while removing the height adjustment nuts, at which point when all are removed you should be able to drop the sunroof assembly down & out of the cabin.

With the motorized seat belts, the sunroof attachment brackets get hung up in the seat belt track assembly on both sides, so you can't just drop the sunroof assembly out. It doesn't say in the FSM, but from what I can tell looking at this, it appears that the seat belt tracks/mechanism needs to come out at least partially so you can get the sunroof assembly out - can anyone confirm this, or have any better suggestions?

i remember someone actually paying at the dealership to fix this, but it was a 10AE. you might need to pull a belt. the whole assembly will drop down, and it comes out the rear hatch.

the Shin Etsu grease works great on the sunroof, it made mine work properly. its also nice on all the weather-strips, it makes the car really quiet

edit the actual tube isn't that big, sorry

Well Mazda skipped this step in the '89 FSM, but I figured it out...

You do indeed have to partially remove the seat belt track to get it out of the way, then you need to remove a small mounting bracket for the seat belt track that gets in the way of dropping the sunroof assembly. Starting from the front A-pillar, you remove the 3x nuts holding the seat belt track. Need to partially remove the upper end of the B-pillar trim to get access to a 17mm & 10mm bolt that secures the B-pillar end of the seat belt track assembly, then just loosen those 2 bolts (don't need to remove them - just back them out a bit). That will free up the seat belt track enough so you can get it out of the way, and use some wire to temporarily secure it so it doesn't flap around or get busted. Oh, and you should disconnect the battery, and disconnect an electrical connector on the A-pillar end of the seat belt track. Pictures illustrate some of what I had to do.

Shin Etsu grease rocks, I use that stuff on a bunch of things, but my sunroof was buggered up beyond repair. Cables & tubes were pretty rusted & stretched, and one of those plastic things that runs inside the tracks was busted. So between my existing sunroof assembly, and the 2x used ones I have in the basement, I hope to assemble 1 fully functional and rust free sunroof assembly.

This is the passenger side, showing the front A-pillar side with the seat belt track partially removed & hung out of the way enough to make room for the sunroof assy. to come out. Also shows the small electrical connector you need to disconnect from the seat belt track end.

And this picture (also pass. side) shows that small bracket (yellow cad. plated bracket w/M6 stud attached & M8 bolt/12mm head that secures it) that needs to come out on both sides.
