Suggestions on increasing throttle pedal feel

Hey all,

I want to get more pressure back on my foot so I can better feel the position of the throttle. What is the best way to do this?

Thanks,
Ben

Hah, I was just thinking this a couple of days ago. I too would also like to know, especially if it is a cheap mod.

It's too soft?

I enjoyed that lol, read the fsm on the pedal there might be a way to adjust the force back.

I always wd40'd my S5 TB and enjoyed how soft it was haha

I think there is a return spring for the pedal. You could just get a stronger spring.

That's an indirect way of going about it and in fact, only addresses the issue if the OP objects to the way the pedal feels as opposed to the feedback from the throttle plates themselves.

The best way to change the feedback on the throttle is to change the leverage ratio...basically, the size of the wheel that the cable attaches to on the throttle body.

The larger the diameter, the less effort need but pedal throw will increase. This may intensify the feeling of throttle plate position.
Smaller diameter, more effort but shorter travel.

A small change in this wheel's diameter- say +/- 10% will have a noticeable effect on the "feel".

Thanks but not the route I am looking for.

I was interested if someone added an additional spring to the pedal or had put on a stiffer spring altogether.

I'd find another project. The last thing you need is a custom gas pedal setup failing on you at a bad time.

I found it harder to drive my car with the stiffer gas pedal.

That is correct, but if you go to a smaller diameter quadrant, you will need more pedal travel to open the throttle the same amount, which may cause more issues than it solves.

I'd try an auxilary spring on the throttle blade and better driving shoes as a cheaper/easier solution.
