yay Going to have to start my quest for coil overs! Would 1 blown shock cause a huge change in rear end stability? Or just the body roll?

Take the Rear tires OFF,and check the Toe bushings and "the other two Bushings there"(toe bushing held by 21mm bolt/nut..the other two are 17mm bolt/nut)..If you can grab your Brake Disc and you get play( and that is If is secured on with the two screws that usuallly hold the disc to the hub),One of them is Shot. The back spindle is on 3 Bushings, and the Half shaft Powers the "outside' of the Set-up(hub/bearing assembly). If you have Movement there By doing what i just said,One of the bushings is shot.

ok, well I found out it was over 150 from mazda, so I was about to paypal the money to you for the solid front Diff mount, but I called my friend criss here from the local RX7 group and he informed me that I could just weld it closed. He has done it and I guess other HIGH powered rx7z have done the same in the past with great results. Now I'm just going to try and find some pictures of where I need to weld and I should be done with that issue.

The only issue that is left now is the random squirlyness. I think my struts are indeed warn down because I can push down on the cars front and rear and it drops a good 6 inches. (never remember it doing that when I got the car) but my friend criss says that since its a random traction issues that it has to be warn DTSS. I love the DTSS and would love to keep it BUT ... looks like DTSS eliminators are going to have to go in. At least it will help make my drifting more predictable, but my track times are going to slow down a bit .

Anyways I will keep you guys up to date and upload some pix of the welded front diff mounts. Thanks for the offer for the solids but it doesnt look like I will be needing them.

TO see if you have blown shocks/struts, you have to "jounce" the car. To do this, push down on EACH corner of the car and count how many times it bounces up and down. IT should be no more then 3 times (on stock or stock replacements) IF it bounces more then 3 then you have blown them out.

I personally think you are looking at all the wrong areas but again, we cant diagnose your car here. I strongly suggest taking it to a certified mechanic and have it professionally checked. To me, and not to be rude, it sounds like your a little on the novice side of auto mechanics.

good shocks on a sports car should not bounce more than once, this is not a Cadillac Deville here..

Just going off what my state inspection requirements are. My Mazdaspeed had hardly no rebound on the Tokico Blues it had.

Tweak, where are you located? Are you in Fl? If so, I work at one of the best rx7 shops in the area. We're known as ISC Racing. We make RX7s and Miatas into SCCA track cars. In fact I just replaced a diff in a miata that had been broken today. What it sounds like to me is that you've broken or burnt out a strut in the rear. Probably LR. But if you're getting a thud when you accelerate, it's probably the diff mount. It may be both. And on the o2 sensor deal, pop your hood and look down the passenger side of the motor. It's right there on top. And unless you buy redline or another BIG name brand, you won't find any gear lube that is only GL4. It all has GL5 and sometimes 6. And before anyone tells me there is no GL6, I've seen it. It shocked me too. Any questions, pm me. If I don't know the answer, I can talk to my boss or co-workers and diagnose almost anything. Peace....Bama

Tweak, you keep saying that you want to keep the DTSS and not use the eliminators but the truth is that your DTSS is probably worn out and not working anyways. If you install the eliminator bushings you'll find that when the car breaks loose it's a lot more predictable than before.

ya, I guess your right, I knew that it would make the car TONS more predictable in / out of drifts and that my dtss is most likly not workin correctly, so I will just do that first. I hope I dont have to drop the whole rear end / need a compressor to do it. If I have to I might as well change all the rear end rubber w/ solid.

Thank for the FL help and I might ask you some questions in the future, but Im located in WA state.
