Substance on Oil Cap ((Please Help))

There is a yellow looking substance that smells like gas on my oil cap and down the oil filler tube. I would like to know what could be causing this problem and how I would go about fixing it. Thanks

Happens when you flood the engine. If you flood it real bad you'll get that build up of oil/gas and any condensation. I flooded mine real bad one time and found what you describe. So its a good idea to change the oil after a real bad flooding.

i Have a subtance on mine as well, but its not yellow mine is more of a grey/brown and smells like gas as well, i know mine is caused by my bad Oil controll rings.

maby check compression to make sure your seals are still good. and make sure your coolant seals are still good as well.. maby you got bad Rings to.

sounds like moister... do an oil change and see if that helps.. it is due to condensation inside the engine from not getting the engine completly warmed up before shutting it off.. or it could be bad coolant seals leaking into the engine
