is a overhaul kit the same as a rebuild kit?

It really depends, Different shops sell the same kit rebild or overhaul but with different components, Just make sure you read the contents and you'll get what it is you want.

overhaul and rebuild usealy refer to the same thing
a rebuilt engine is the same an engine that has been overhaulled
