stumbling and bucking problem

I have an 87 s4 n/a, all stock besides cone air filter.

So my car has recently started doing something weird. While cruising (in any gear and any speed) after a bit the car will stumble and act like its not firing for a few seconds, and then resume running just fine on its own. It does this at high rpms and also at the 3800 hesitation, and at 2000 rpm or anywhere inbetween. I am not sure what to check for this and wont be able to work on the car until tesuday.

Is this a grounding issue? Or the tps? I adjusted the tps again a few weeks ago, if it is out of adjustment again already does that mean tps needs replaced? Thats the only 2 things I can think of that would cause the problem besides maybe ecu grounds?

Can anyone else direct me in other directions to check or give me better search terms to look for other threads that had this problem.

thanks,
Matt

so it looks like my fuel guage was stuck at a quarter tank and my car was actually really low on gas. I put 25 bucks in my tank and now i no longer have this issue. haha
