Stud Removal

What techniques do you guys use to remove studs? Im trying to remove the acv and egr studs specifically but i havent had much luck with it. The only mehtod I tried was flattening two sides down with a dremel and cranking it out with a vice grips, but maybe im just a sissy

Put 2 nuts on it then tighten them on each other and turn the inside nut while making sure the outer nut doesn't move?
