Stressed Out New Rx7 Owner

ok i just bought a 87 na and i have been working on a oil problem but i think i got that figured out, now another question for those of you with standard transmission when you are sitting in idle and it is dead silent should you be abile to hear the gears and should the stick vibrate a little when you are in neutral, just a little stressed because i have been wanting one of these cars since i was in high school and the last thing i want is for the car to be dead and immobile evn though everything runs well right now, also has anyone had the seatbelt light turn on and off randomly ?

The bushing he's referring to is the shifter bushings. These cars are a bit old by now and the shifter bushings are well worn if they've never been replaced. Do a search for shifter bushings on the forum and you'll find lots of answers.

As for the hessitation, you're probably just not use the 7, much less the clutch. Remember, these cars have nearly 0 torque below 3K rpm. If you're shifting and going while still at the 750 idle, you're not going to go anywhere.

well thanks i feel welcome here and i am glad for you r hospitality i now have a new hobby other than selling electronics and i konow nothing about it "rx7" but back to the issues (naturally) i did all the oil **** and well the car still smells like oil after driving it a while its not smoking like it did but it still smells like oil, i was wondering if i should clean the engine and all the underside with something so that way it would eliminate the burning off of things like my muffler and stuff it would also help me locate the main issue of the oil leak... what should i use to clean the engine ? is there any precautions that i need to know about befor doing this ?

should i take my cat off? the damn thing already has a hole in it!! , i read in other threads that that would be bad is that true?

and did anyone answer the feeling of the clutch thing the noise of the gears and etc, also the seat belt light thing it keeps fading on and then off and on again "annoying"

and last but not least i need a couple of opinions from people that have 7s what are some good web sites for exterior and interior upgrades?
should i go with 17s or 18s ?
what is the lug pattern? 4 - 100 ?
wings? yes,? no?

so many questions so little time i want to know it all aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

thanks guys your awesome
