Streetported NA

I had some questions for when my engine finally goes and im left with my rebuild options

Can i rev the engine any higher with streetporting? (and clearancing and balancing etc)

The stock ports offer like no power after 6500-7000 rpm. If i am catless with a decent catback will the streetported engine make decent power all the way to redline?

catback only? if so, you're shooting yourself in the foot right off the bat. a header will help you in that regard.

i'm assuming this is a 6 port. keep in mind the stock intake has limits. i guess the question really will come down to whether or not you can breach them with just streetporting and i simply don't know that.

With my setup the answer has been yes. YMMV. The RB header/presilencer combo with the HKS Sport cat back Mazdatrix used to sell and a cone filter got me to just about 7500 then it fell on its face. It now pulls strong past redline but fuel cut is at 8500 on the stock computer so I've only been to 8300 t0 8400 rpm. Was still pulling. Wakes up around 5500 and feels good from there. Here is my setup:

Streetported intake using Pineapple Racing template. Didn't touch aux(5th&6th) ports.
Removed all casting flash/roughness from runners on irons.
TII rotor housings ported with Pineapple's EP2 template.
RB header with the inlets ground/ported to smooth flow into it due to it's mismatch to the exhaust port. There are pics in a thread around here somewhere.
The before mentioned exhaust setup.
Cone intake. RE engineering fuel injector service.
The remaining bits and pieces are in my sig.

This is on the stock ecu. Will get something to control fuel in the future. At minimum a SAFC but I really want a PowerFC though I am taking other standalones into consideration. I would also like to build a long primary exhaust setup at some point in the future if I ever get a welder and learn to use it.

Oh I got the flywheel during the build. Was on the stock flywheel when I had stock ports.
