well it depends on the size of the port job i suppose. ie. large or medium or small.
best way to know is a dyno.

a streetport won't do much on an n/a. the MOST you'll get out of her is MAYBE 180hp

Cptpain,
The grammer in your sig needs some editing.

I have seen 180 without a streetport. But 180 is a good number to shoot for.

You won't get much power out of the N/A without stand alone, exhaust, catback, headers, and porting. You have porting and exhaust down, so time to get the others on the list. I think you could shoot for 200 to the wheels with everything done right and a bigger port job.

thanks now i have a general idea. once i get a header im going to switch over to electric fans and put on a cold air intake i should be over 200hp but before all that i need to do some electrical work on the interior. theres a few things that don't work.

I think that may be an overestimation.

RotorSports Racing builds good engines. RsR is located in Kannapolis, NC and they're just north of Charlotte. I have an 89 GTU and they rebuilt my engine about 45K ago. I also had it street ported and added a Racing Beat dual Stainless, catback exhaust and a highflow cat. 180 HP for their street porting is a good estimate for this car and its engine mod. RsR has a website and are easy guys to work with. They should be able to tell you anything you need to know about their work if you have the owner's name at the time the work was done.

I agree with this statement; Unless you're running a RB true dual, large streetport, ecu (probably rtek), and have a beautifully designed intake (NOT just throwing on a cone filter), seeing 200 to the wheels is fairly unlikely.

i agree as well. heres my suggestion, unless your fabbing up an entire cold air intake system, just get a k and n drop in for the stock system. the money you would spend on an electric fan would be better put to something else. (i know someone on here will probably fight me about that) get a lightweight flywheel/clutch combo, and rtek 2. with a good tune and those headers and now you MIGHT be talking about 200, but not with the setup you stated

Stock and in good condition you get 135 HP or so at the wheels. It depends on the size of the street port, but a street port could give around 25 HP. A full exhaust also gives around 25 HP. Beyond that you can only get 2-3 HP here and there without tuning, and even tuning is small compared to the port or exhaust. This is where NAs kinda hit a limit. Sure enough, all that adds up to struggling-to-hit-200.

Everyone's just throwing around numbers without specifying wheel or engine power. 180whp would be very doable and a good goal (stock ports can exceed 170whp). That will be over 200hp at the engine, so 200hp very doable . 200whp on the other hand would be a bit of a stretch for a street car, not that it won't be doable, but you'll be needing big ports, maybe ITB's, and a bunch of race stuff, which in the end probably won't be very streetable and would give up low end power in exchange for 9000+rpm power that you'll probably never use.

in 89 i believe the stock hp went up to 160? am i right? because i was looking at some specs online like 0-60 and 1/4 mile times for stock vehicles and 160hp was rated for the 89-91 rx-7

streetport with no further mods except a exaust- I think 150whp is more like it

find a dyno and for $35-$50 you can find out

to the wheels, i would say with a small streetport that a good estimation... for a large streetport he could probably be in the 160s
