streetport hp gains

My motor in my 90 na convertible is approaching the end of it's life span and i was thinking of having a rebuilt engine pu into it . Some of the web sites I have visited sell streetport engines for just a little more money ( typically 300 to 400 dollars ) than a stock rebuild . I was wondering how much of a horsepower gain i was looking at . Also this is a 6 port engine if that makes a difference to the gain .
the stock numbers on my motor are 160hp
Any help would be appreciated thanks

As I understand, 6 ports are not the best to streetport as far as HP gains go. Do a search on both and you can read it to better understand. I could be wrong.

As well, a streetport only makes a signifigant diference if you have a freeflow exhaust, intake, and the removal of all smog equip, ect. Then of course, if you add fuel and some mgmt to it, it really helps.

Street ports can vary from 5 HP to 25 HP peak depending on who does it and the templates used.

Exactly, it all depends on the size and shape of the port. I would say get the exhaust ported as well, but its a PITA on NA housings. I say its worth the money, you'll just kick yourself later if you dont do it.

If you have the money to spend you might as well do it if your going to do more in the line of upgrades, if your just looking to rebuild the motor and could care less for future HP gains (ex: exhaust, intake etc...) then I wouldn't get it done.
