Street Tuning Procedures
Street Tuning Procedures
I've searched the forums and looked for sticky threads in the engine management forums but haven't been able to find a guide for basic street tuning.
So I googled and found this step-by-step guide with notes on NA vs turbo.
At HAILERS' recommendation I have a Zeitronix pressure sensor to extend the w/b AFM which I'll be installing today. And at arghx's recommendation I have a brand new TPS on its way from Mazdatrix; hopefully here next week. I did call Randy at Malloy Mazda and while he was very cool he said that he couldnt touch Mazdatrix's price (Mazda's list is over $500 now).
So for those with experience street tuning, what do you think about the procedures? I have full emissions enabled (though I have to verify the ACV system) and the fact that rotaries like rich mixtures and rich owners, do the recommended AFRs in the write-up make sense?
I'm not looking for crazy HP and the car will never see a dragstrip. I just want good power, good fuel economy, great driveability and no BOOMS!
Appreciate your insight and thoughts,
Jim

Those procedures look fine...They are quite basic but tuning is a complicated thing to communicate in a web page. Much of it is by feel.
What ECU are you using?

Thanks, Aaron.
