strange question.. car wont start when..

ok i do not know much about these cars so maybe this isnt strange but to me it sounds strange.

If i was to turn the car on and only move it like 5 feet then turn it off. It is almost impossible to turn it back on again without a jump. The car needs to be warmed up a little (like a drive down the street and back) before it can be turned off. What could this be?? Thanks for any help.

Sounds like the engine is flooding. Do a search on "unflooding procedure". You have to use jumper cables to start the car after running it for a short time? Flooding usually is due to low compression or leaking injectors.

It was flooded. Probably didn't even need a jump. Solution to not having it flood is to let the engine warm up fully before shutting it off (or not having to moce it five feet to begin with).

If you have an 86-88, pull the EGI INJ (right? I don't have an S4, but know that there's two EGI fuses) fuse in the engine bay, and crank a few times. Put the fuse back in, and it should start up. If you have an 89-91, no fuse pulling necessary, just hold the gas pedal down while cranking, then start as normal.
