strange noise under the hood

well everytime i start the engine i hear a noise its like air i really dont know, i have searched everywhere and i dont find anything, my dad says its a vacuum line, it's there any tips on how to check thw vacuum lines????? i need help i don't like that noise.

spray carb cleaner on vacuum lines and look for bubbles

describe the noise in more detail. is it a whooshing, a squeal, etc..

Is your air pump still operational or has it been removed?

If you take a clean funnel, hold the small part to your ear and point the large to the engine you can approximate where the sound is coming from. Flip it around and use the opposite end to pinpoint the sound. ~rich
