strange kv tester readings

So I hooked a KV tester to my car and the wires readings were between 5 and 8 with a conventional spark, except L2 was reading a inverted spark between 5 and 8. Does anyone know if they are all supposed to be reading conventional sparking? or if 2 are supposed to be conventional and 2 inverted? Im thinking I have a bad coil pack here. 87 TII, thanks.

Leading coil fires both plugs at the same time while the trailing does not if this helps you any.

Your lead coil is a wasted spark design and is acting normal. Your trail is normal.

Wasted spark works somewhat like this that I copied off the net: "The flow of current, occuring only when there is a spark, runs from one plug lead, down the center electrode of its spark plug across the air gap to the ground (side) electrode. Then through the engine to the ground electrode of the other plug, across its air gap and up the center electrode, through the plug lead and back to the coil. "

Something like that. See the Training manuals for RX and Engine Electrical section.

Works like this attached url except you just have one coil pack and only two "cylinders". So the Lead flow is from the lead coil...thru the sparkplug wire......jumps the gap in the sparkplug..........jumps the gap in the other lead sparkplug........goes up the other lead sparkplug wire and back into the Lead coil. One single coil on the lead coil assy. The url is: http://www.crypton.co.za/Tto%20know/...sted%20sp.html

the ACV or air control valve is the first stop.
