Strange Engine Problem
Strange Engine Problem
OK guys, I'm having a strange problem with my car. When I turn the car on, the car stays at like 10 rpm for a short while then increases to around 2k and stays there as if it is almost the idle. It does not do the accelerated warmup procedure as it is supposed to. I am unsure where the AWS solenoid is to check the system. Does anyone know where this is on an NA? Also, the car will not rev past 8k sometimes. I think this is a fuel problem relating to too much fuel in the cimbustion process, what might this be caused by, I was thinking primary injectors, but I checked those and they seemed to be working fine, what else could the problem be?
vaccuum leaks are most likely killing your car along with running lean or rich, bad spark etc. etc.
oil and filter change
fuel filters
air filter
plugs and wires
coolant system flush
you should also check and replace any bad radiator and vaccum hoses, belts top off all fluids etc etc
check your TID or intake tube for cracks too

not much power up there. Have you guys seen the vid of some guys redlining (9K) for several minutes and then getting bored of the motor not blowing? They got tired of waiting and removed the radiator cap and it took a total of 9-10 minutes with the radiator cap and 9K+ rpms to blow the motor.
we know the car can take it but it's a bit useless considering the lack of power up there ( unless it's ported)

Also,
before this problem occured I had replaced all the spark plugs, the wires and the engine oil and filter and the prolem starting occuring about 2 weeks after I did all this.
Also, I have read how to perform a vaccuum test, but I couldn't really understand how to do it. Now I've read, unplug some part of the vaccuum system and record the measurement, I have the tester as well, but I'm still unsure how to determine whether the test indicates the vaccuum is good or bad. Also does anyone have any tips as to how to find a vaccuum leak?
