Strange Electrical Quirk

Two things.

1st:
MYy tach acts funny under light throttle, give it light throttle sometimes and the tack is all bouncy and then shift and it shoots 2 or 3k rpms foward. Sometimes it does it in WOT, which is scary because ill shift at 5k and the needle hits 8k or 9k if I shift at 6k. I have a microtech LT10s, could it be ignition related(coil).

2nd:
I roll my window down today and go to put it up a little and the turbo timer starts to countdown while I am driving. I roll it up and and then try to go down and it wont go down now. If I press the drivers side window down the turbo timer will engage shutdown squence, WTF?

Any suggestions?

Took the door panel off and the wiring is in tact.
The click however doesn't register when I press it down so I am assuming the switch might be bad.
It still doesn't explain why the turbo timer activates when I press it down however.

1: I had a slight higher rpm hesitation like you described, replaced plugs and wires and it went away. Used to shift at 5500 and the redline beep would fly into effect, drove me nuts. The lower hesitation I would chaulk up to either a little overly rich condition or it may tie into the plugs and wires as well. I would check the coils and make sure they are up to spec as well, but plugs and wires are cheap.

2: car could have had a voltage drop and maybe stalled real quick or dropped to low and the timer came on.
maybe ignition (key) switch could be going bad, mine has minimal play in it and I could possibly see this happening.

Keep in mind most of this is just general speculation though.

I don't get actual hesitation on the the light throttle, just the needles like to be lame. I'll change the plugs and wires and see what that does.

The window switch turns the timer on all the time. I just went out and looked at it. I migght have to get a switch. I'll be surrouned by RX heads tomorrow and be able to ask them. Go DAVE! check the SE section post. They're not going to the beach now, but to a Pizza Place, still meeting at 711 at 11am though.

Unless someone really fubarred your turbo timer install, you may have some melted wires...that's odd that it always activates the timer.

I may meet up with you guys at 711 but I don't think I'll be able to make the trip, I got some schoolwork due on wednesday and I have been slacking a bit lately. It depends on what I can get done tonight really. I'll see what I can do.

The turbo timer counting down suggests that the problem is with the ignition switch wires (and probably whoever installed the Turbo timer).

There is an intermittent ignition wire input into the turbo timer

But Icemark, why would the turbo timer activate itself when I pull the driver's side window switch? Could it be wired into it's 12v source and causing this to happen?

because the voltage is dropping under 12 volts.

turbo timers activate when they loose voltage

Oh...now that makes sense Icemark, thanks. I think my driver's side window switch is out, I am going to take it apart and see whats up, meanwhile looking for a working used one.
