Strange Belt Problem ...

Hey guys ... I had a very strange problem present itself to me today. Going back about a month now I replaced all the belts on the car and everything tighten up fine and I haven't had a problem.

Tonight I was driving and the alternator belt came off ... Luckly, I had tools in the car so I was able to put it back on ... Drove it about 200 yards and the idiot lights came on again ... The belt came off again and the air pump belt was off too ... My guess is the alternator belt took the ap belt ... but what is making it jump off ... I got it tight when I put it back on, on the side of the road ... I don't see how there could be an alignment problem...

My thought was either the alternator or water pump bearing(s) were going out - however everything is spinning smoothly.

Any thoughts?
