stock water temp sensor question

my stock water temp sensor dont work in the dash..... i also have 2 sensors on my thermostat houseing. one on the back and one on the top. witch one of these controls the water temp gauge? and how would i go about hooking it up? im guessing its the one on the back of the t-stat houseing. but im not sure, and i THINK the wire going to it is a yellow wire with a white stripe.

thanks
Daniel

the gauge dash sensor is under the oil filter. right below the oil pressure gauge sensor.

The sensor on top of the thermo housing is for your electric fan. I forgot what the one on the back is for.

Mines not yeller. Also, if the connector is on the water temp sender, you might have another problem. Now the factory service manual at http://www.iluvmyrx7.com has a section dealing with the water sender/gauge and how to check it out for accuracy.
