stock vs aftermarket rim fitment

i have a question. im running stock turbo 2 rims current with car lowered. im using a 1/4" inch spacer up front and it barely clears.

now i wanted to get 17 inch rims with +35 offset. 7" wide up front, do u think i will need a bigger spacer?

1/4" spacer on stock 6" rims which are +40 compared to 7" rims which are +35.

You'll going to be closer to the strut by 13-15mm. You'll most likely need a bigger spacer.

it barely clears what? your fender?

I have 17x8 +35s in the front and it's fine.

this should really be in the wheels and tires section of the forum though...

(yeah I know... my car is primer)

TII wheels are 7" wide, so they should fit about the same as the stock 40mm offset wheels plus the 1/4" spacer (6.35mm). You really should be looking at wider wheels with slightly lower offset, as there's no sense in limiting yourself if you're starting out new. I'd reccomend 17x8, 30mm offset and a 225/45/17, as it's about as wide as you can go and be practically guaranteed to have it fit without issues. It's also a really good rim to tire match and will provide you with good feedback and it'll handle better than say a 17x7 and the same tire.

What springs are you using, Tein and Tanabe lowering springs are known to limit front wheel/tire clearance on FC's.

i have tein coilovers but they car close to rubbing the strut/spring so i haveto use 1/4' spacer to fit stock t2 rim up front.
