stock turbo ?'s

how much boost can the stock turbo safely put out on an s4 t2?...what is its boost capability from min to max boost?..im currently running 10lbs..well trying to..considering the boost creep...porting out the wastegate in progress...

the generally excepted answer is no more then 10psi it seems. porting the waste gate is always a good idea as well.. do you have a boost controller.

p.s. does it have the stock wastegate spring that you know of?

yes i have a manual boost controller....and it does have the stock wg spring...

it might hold 6 or 7 to redline but you can crank it up to 12-13 if you have supporting mods. it will be pretty torquey but full on its face soon after 5k

If you want upgrade to the s5 turbo, normally wont get the creep issue their. Also you can have them rebuilt with new housings for more boost if you like.

i beleive the stock turbo can run 12 psi safely, IF you have the supporting mods, ie enough fuel flow and proper voltage at the pump plus a way to control fuel. The stock intercooler is not meant for increased boost and i would not run more than 10psi through it, at that point the turbo is probably pushing more heat than boost, negating any gains from more boost. you will want to port the WG and while you are at it probably port intake runners. Its not hard with the proper tools.

ic ic...thx guys...as for the s5 turbo...are their any modifications i need to know of if i do install that one?...how much bigger is the s5 wastegate hole compared to the 16mm s4?..also..yes i have an afc neo dyno tuned, 720cc secondaries, and walbro fuel pump...
