Question Stock turbo air inlet size? inches? mm?

Hey guys, I am looking for an aftermarket air filter for my TII but don't know the size and don't have time to find out myself. So I was wondering if anybody knew what the stock S4 13B turbo air inlet size is... preferably in mm...

Thanks in advance!!!

It's about 2 3/8". You will need a coupler that scales up to 3" to fit most filters.

Okay, it's a 63mm inlet, would you say go up to 70mm (approx 2.5in) or down to 60mm (approx 2in)??

get a 2.5" to 3" adapter. One of those cheesy discount auto parts stores sells them. Spectre brand I believe. I then bought a 3" mandrel bent 90' steel pipe, cut it in the middle of the bend, clocked it properly to where it goes to the fender, then welded it. Then, to adapt the intake pipe to the stock MAF sensor, I used a 3.125" coupler. Then a 3" filter will go on the end of the MAF sensor.

This is an old pic, but you get the idea. I'm eventually going to powdercoat the steel pipe. Rust sucks.

It looks like you have it setup as a CAI, would I beable to get the MAF to setup more inside the engine bay?

Yeah man, you don't have to do it exactly as I did. All I'm saying is that if you're going to use the stock turbo, the ONLY adapter that I've ever found that will work is the 2.5 to 3.0" adapter from Spectre. THEN, the problem is that the MAF sensor is 3.125 (3 1/8") in diameter, and won't fit to a 3" for some reason. So, what you'll have to do is make your own 3" pipe to go from the turbo adapter to the MAF. The extra 1/8" will clamp down to the 3" pipe, so don't worry about that.

Just shorten the length of the pipe, connect the MAF with the 3.125" coupler, and toss a short filter on the end and you'll have your hot air intake like you're looking for. I opted to relocate the windshield washer bottle and cut a larger hole for some no-**** cold air. I still have yet to reinstall said washer bottle, but that's not the point.

Haha, sounds ghetto but works. lol. Me and a friend used a dremmle and cut the top of the stock air housing out and it spools nice for the time being until I get the filter and ****. I would go CAI but Minnesota is already cold as a ****. Thanks for the info
