stock thermostat temperature

I just bought a thermostat for 24 bucks made by beck/arnley. It says that it opens at 192 degrees, that seems kinda high but i couldnt find one that ran at lower temps. Is this ok? What temp thermostats are you running and where did you get them?

You really want to only go with a Mazda OEM thermostat, no matter what anyone says or claims.

I think I posted from the fsm and it said it started to open at 167 and was fully open at 195. I'll double check or if you want go to the online factory service manual and look in the coolant section. http://www.iluvmyrx7.com

NO, I was wrong. It says it starts to open at 197-183 and is fully open at 203 degrees. That's for a 87 model.

The 89 says it starts to open at 177-182 and is fully open at 203 degrees.
