Stock temp sensor

Can i take out the stock temp sensor that's used for the gauge and put in my autometer sender? Nothing will be affected ecu wise, right? Because the ECU has it's own sender?

Thanks!

If anyone has tried this already, are the fittings the same size/tap?

Second question, where's the sensor for the gauge, and where's the sensor for the ecu, so that i don't take out the wrong one lol

The sensor for the gauge is under the oil filter,. Its a 10mm looking nut with a wire coming off it. Im not sure about your first question though. I used a greddy gauge and sending unit and they were the same size. Couldnt tell you about autometer though.

What I mean is, will the fitting screw right in, or will i have to get an adaptor, and if so, does anyone know the size?
Thanks!
