Is the stock LSD type 1 way?
Is the stock clutch type LSD 1 way? I know my 86 GXL has one, but none of the threads i've found specified how the stock LSD functions on deceleration.
"NOTE: A 1.5 way LSD reduces the force that "locks" the differential together than if it were to be a 2 way LSD under deceleration. Having a 1.5 or 2.0 way reduces the likelihood of one tire from stopping (while one tire is still rotating) than a 1 way. If you're going around a corner while decelerating, a 1.5 way may be better over a 2 way, so that your tires still transfer some torque, but also allow for different wheel speeds so that one tire is not dragging or skipping."
- Engineering explained.
For those who may not know the difference, this is a great video:

The stock lsd is a two way. The ramps on the clutch pack activators (dont know what else to call those pieces) are angled forward and backwards. That means under decel the clutches would be loaded same as under acceleration.

I've read pretty much all the threads on the 2nd gen forum with LSD in the topic. Please point me to the threads you got this information from...
Thanks Mex! I'm assuming then that the 'clutch pack activators' must have the same angle. If the angle is more or less severe on one side, that would indicate a 1.5 WAY. Either way, I am happy to hear it is not a 1 WAY, I think for more advanced driving techniques (which I hope to have one day) a 1 WAY can prove to have limitations.

The ramp angle is "45deg" for both accel and decel.
The important thing to remember is that it's not an aggressive diff. Stock preload is somewhere around 35 ftlbs, at least near as I could tell after verifying my internals were all on the high side of factory spec. I don't believe these diffs are ever worn out, they were just never "tight" to begin with. I would still spin up a wheel on track when running over a kerb on a crest. The diff was probably too hot, though.
