stock gauges suck !!!

ok it's offical stock gauges suck.

a few weeks ago I proved the water temp gauge sucks (S5). I hit 216F on an aftermarket one. and the stock gauge didn't move between 185 and 216!

but now today I installed my S-afc. it's RPM readings will be much more acurate then the tach. well my stock tach is 300rpm too low at 3000rpm. and 400rpm too low higher up. So I've been shifting to dam early all this time!

If your tach is reading to low wouldnt that mean you are shifting to early?

Poor Scott... Sheesh, now I'm excited about getting my acf! I wanna see if my tach is messed up too! If it is, I'm gonna get me one of those HUGE 5 inch diameter tach's with the flashlight on the side that acts like a shift light! YEAH!!! Mustang drivers will think I'm the coolest!

hmmmmmmmmm..... thats strange. I had my Turbo Timer (one of the fancy HKS ones) hooked up to the tach signal from my ECU, and at about 7000 it is about 200-300 off also. I figured it was the turbo timer... now... I don't know.

if your tach is low, you're shifting too late.

The stock guage says "normal" from 174*F-249*F .

Needlesss to say it moves to 'H' at 250+..

no, when i'm at 4000rpm on the afc. the stock tach says 3600.

so when I shift when the stock tach says 7000, it's only at 6600.

so I shift too early.

it depends on which gauge is accurate. He is saying the SAFC is.

Felix is right... if you are really at 4K when your stock tach says 3600, then.. you are at 7400 when your stock says 7000, shifting late.. sucka
