Stock Exhaust Question

Anyone know the diameter of the exhaust system from turbo to mufflers? After reading the thread on backpressure and velocity. I was wondering if a 3" would be overkill for street use. Or would 2.5" would be more ideal.

on a turbo you don't want ANY backpressure, the bigger the better.

I understand that but I don't want to sacrifice all my lowend torque.

Exactly. 3" helps mid-range to high end torque. What I'm looking for is a nice blend of low-end torque and high end power. I run my engine from 2500 to 4000 rpms with the occasional spirited race when I run it up to redline. I understand how 3" will help me more in a spirited race that 2.5" will but I'm more interested in day to day performance and I think 3" will just be overkill.
