stock exhaust questinos on 1988 t2

how many cats are on stock exhaust... it looks to me that only 1 will fit without having the exhaust stick out the back... right now i have a CS 2.5" dp to a test pipe then to the y-pipe then to the mufflers.... if i put a cat where the test pipe is, is that right.

Downpipe replaces 1 precat (2 on an NA car).
Testpipe replaces the main cat.

Well, the expensive way is to go to Mazda or a company like Black Dragon Auto, who sell dealer parts at discounted rates. http://www.blackdragonauto.com/ICATA...l.aspx?Page=46

But the cheap way would be to buy one off ebay and get a muffler shop to weld in a new converter. The old one will probably be toast.
