stock ecu for ignition only?

Is it possible to use the stock ecu to run the ignition.... cas, coils ect... you know for the spark only? or is there something that will prevent me from doing this?

or even better is there an aftermarket ecu ignition only ecu that i can use alone to control the stock ignition? (for somewhere around $300-400)

the reason for all of this is im going carb...

stock ecu will run the ignition fine on a series 4 car. I did this and ran a Dellorto carb for years. You just have to hook up / make a bracket for the TPS and adjust it properly.

or you couls put a 1st gen ignition setup in there
