When I put in my new SP engine, i broke it in for 800 miles(easy driving) and on the 4th 1/4 pass it exploded into about 30 pieces....it was BRAND NEW. I replaced that one with an ACT 4puck, solid copper unsprung. No more ******* around. I would do the same...

did it shatter on a drop, or just by pure power?

going from First to Second. Slammed the clutch, shifted...and it just shattered the disk, forcing the PP and disk into ONE piece...so it wouldnt disengage. Had to have to towed from the races..sucked. Replaced it the next day. When I took the PP off, it was in about 20-30 pieces....joy.

after full exhuast on a t2 and any amount of launching it will start going soft really quickly. Stock clutch....sucks! ACT street/strip = excellent.

blasted my clutch while racing a 5 point o, and i smoked him and smoked my clutch, it wasn't bad as EXPLODING like posted on the threads up there it's more like at fourth gear @ 6500RPM and holding then REVVVVVvvvvvvvvVVvvVVvv revs drop to 1k, drove home 10 mph. the only way i could of move was to rev up to 5k.

full exhaust + tb mod + fcd = 190hp to the ground?

o yeah i can take my foot off the clutch in any gear while the parking brake is up, i burnt that sucker up.

Why do people say a clutch is good for "xxx hp". Horsepower doesn't overpower the clutch, TORQUE does. These ratings people give should be in ft/lbs, not hp.

My NA clutch blew up on me, but i was on the highway when it happened. I pulled up to a freeway exit stop sign and kept on rolling.. drove 100+miles home with no clutch... fun stuff huh?

why do people have to be dicks about it. this is what i was told by a well known builder... and i'll take his word for it... do the math if you really want a torque #...

I have about 8500-9000 miles on my ACT, and I beat the **** out of it daily....I have no idea how long it will last, but I think they say 40 or so % longer than stock, or something like that. My FIRST(hehe) stock clutch lasted till 160xxx.

And by the way...I am pulling this mild SP engine, for a half-bridge. Should be close to 275-290 at the fly, and I will be using this same clutch. I'l let ta know what happens..
