stock BOV question

I've open vented the stock BOV after making a custom TID from alum. using a one way check valve, and some brass thread at home depot. Yeah yeah I know it's not the best set up, and I'm sure I have some tiny vacuum leak from it, but it iddles perfectly so I'm cool. It will hold until I can get a real BOV. The question: is the hose going from the bov into the block neccesary? I was under the impression that it's purpose was to see how much air would be going back into the TID (well when it was stock) and compensate for that with extra fuel. If that air is now being vented into the atmosphere, does that line still serve a purpose?

you mean the vac line?? YES YOU NEED THAT!!! your BOV is not even working without that line.

that is the vac line that opens the BOV when you shift of let off the gas.

there is also another line that went into the TID. did you hook that one back up?

yes it's the vaccum line attached to the actual black part of the stock bov. I used a threaded brass barb for the other line that went into the TID. So yeah everything else is hooked up. I was just asking to see if I could save myself the trouble of teeing into that line since I already have 3 lines teed with a tri orifce from the greddy boost guage. (fcd - sensor for boost guage - nipple on engine block) Aw well guess I'll have to do some teeing. Does anyone know the ID of those vacuum lines?

1/4in I think. Why dont you make a project of it, and start repacing it with silicone.

heh, don't worry I haven't driven the car in a week. It's on jackstands in the garage, I just completed a turbo swap and removal of ACV/EGR/air pump. I'm waiting for my block off plates to get here and then I can drive it. I have everything hooked together excepet for my new found problem.
