Stock BOV

hey, anyone got ne pics of the stock bov on a s5? and i know its the air gets routed back into the intake, but if i were to vent it to atmosphere would it be louder? of so how would i go bout doing this? if not, is there a aftermarket bov i can get that will be easy to install on a fairly stock setup?

No. Get an aftermarket one. They don't cost that much. I got an HKS kit that took me 5 minutes to install. I'm dead serious.

Yeah. It uses the same tube. You pull it out and remove the stock bov. Tilt the tube upwards and insert new BOV. Bolt included bracket to shock tower zone, and voila, ridiculously loud noises. It also has a little plug for the intake tube, and some stickers. The stickers took me the longest to install, because I didn't know where I wanted them to go.

I have mine vented, sounds good. Loud enough for other people to hear but its not annoying at all. I actually have a HKS (well I think its a knock off, idk) but I decided to keep the stocker on there.
I have a standalone though, I think on the stock ecu you will go rich between shifts if you vent it.

do it up my how my car was before i fixed it... take the hose clamp off the intercooler elbow and it will make the bov noise plus you get to loose alot of boost and low end power!!!

^i'm joking... but it will make the noise!

The HKS kit fits like a glove and the universal one will not. You'd have to do some riggin to get it to work. The FC3S kit comes with the mounting hardware, including the adapter to fit into the factory ducting. I got mine for $200 brand new on eBay

The BOV is a little black gizmo coming off of the turbo outlet to the TMIC. It sits between the outlet tube and the intake. It's roundish and looks like a little bypass valve dealy. It's impossible to miss.
