To my knowledge that's exactly what it's supposed to do. No remote at all.

so no matter what in order to turn it off you need to unlock the back hatch?.

it should deactivate when you unlock the doors or hatch with the key.

No remote, Only disarms by turning the key to the unlock position in one of the doors or hatch.

My alarm occasionaly goes off when I open my hatch first before the door. This is because I have a bad door jam switch that works intermittently. So I always remember to make sure I heard the beep before closing the door. Sometimes if I'm in a hurry, I forget to make sure the system was armed correctly, then I go to open my hatch later on and my alarm scares the **** out of me until I unlock the driver's door.

hmm odd, that means my lock sensor isn't working but the door jam is on my drivers door, oh well just a minor inconvenience for now,

FYI: When the system is armed in my S5, if you unlock the passenger-side door with the key the stock alarm will go off.

You can either clean the switches in the door with come contact cleaner or remove the silver box that controls the alarm. It's in the passenger side dash, under the glove box...

Remove the speaker cover and you'll see it right there.

The early (86-88) 2nd gens have the alarm control box under the RHS dash. The late (89-91) 2nd gens have the alarm control circuit board in the CPU, which is located under the LHS kick panel. On the late 2nd gens, unplugging the alarm wiring harness at the CPU does not completely disconnect the alarm. Unplugging the alarm wiring harness will only disable the horn and prevent the headlights from flashing when the alarm goes off. Also, the horn button will not not work with the alarm disconnected. Not sure if early 2nd gen will act the same way with alarm disconnected. It would interested to find out.

so disconnecting it off from the dash still won't disconnect the alarm. So let's say you disconnect it and. The alarm goes of,f you wouldn't know if it's going off till it kills your battery??

If it is a S4 then the silver box kills EVERYTHING about the alarm. It is the alarm and it can't drain, cut or other wise cause any problems. The horn still works though. s5 is way different. I actually had to get a new cpu because the alarm section went. out.
