Alarms don't mess up... most of the time on the FC it is due to user error or a bad or mis-aligned latch switch on the door.

Well to disarm, you want to make sure that you are turning the key in the door to unlock.

The system will not disarm (once it is armed) by the ignition switch.

If it is tiggering by itself 80% of the time it is the latch switch on the drivers or passengers door. The latch switch is the little lever that you push up or down to lock or unlock the car from inside the car. Most of the time when the alarm false triggers it is because the contacts in the latch switch are dirty/gummed up, or the latch switch itself is mis-aligned to the door panel and trim cup.

The other 20% of the time it is due to a loose hood, or mis-aligned hatch/trunk switches.

The stock alarm is amazingly well built for an OEM system, and internally in the S4 alarm brain, it is unheard of to have a failure with the logic circuits.

Icemark what about an s5 alarm. I'm trying to figure why mine would go off 5 mins after getting home as well as at 2am. This is the first meaningful thread I found when I searched.
